VISITORS will arrive in their thousands for the 2024 Snowy Classic Gran Fondo cycling event to tackle the legendary alpine terrain the mountains have become famous for.
Regardless of their age, (there are those with a good tinge of grey) they thrive on the camaraderie of cycling and their pursuit to register a respectable time.
Two distances are on offer, the 170km Maxi Classic and 110km Challenge Classic, and more importantly riding on closed roads adds huge appeal. The finish line atmosphere and celebration add to what is a wonderful occasion.

Community Competition
This year organisers are encouraging the local community to create displays and welcome the riders, just like they do in the famous races in Europe. Creativity is key! Have you ever seen the great European cycling events and the truly amazing farm art on display? Now there’s a challenge for you. And don’t forget to incorporate the Snowy Classic purple colour.
Whether it's through original artworks, vibrant decorations, imaginative sculptures, or any other creative medium, residents can showcase their interpretation of the popular cycling event that’s set to pump hundreds of thousands of dollars into the local economy.
Displays can be placed in prominent locations, such as storefronts, school yards, or local properties, to capture the attention of passersby and generate excitement for the upcoming major event. A panel of judges will review the displays, the best display will win a 2-night stay at the luxurious Bendooley Estate in Berrima.
