COOMA is the home of the busking, and Sharp Street will be one live music amphitheatre when the Australian National Busking Championships (ANBC) come to town on the last weekend in November.
Starting with a massive welcome party on Friday night at the Alpine Hotel, hosted by the 2022 busking winners The James Brothers, who will be performing and judging on the weekend, the town will be alive to the sounds of music.
More than just a busking event, the main street will be closed on Saturday allowing people to roam and view the buskers.
Firstly, a street parade will kickstart proceedings at 9am Saturday, celebrating many aspects of Cooma including the Snowy Scheme’s 75th anniversary, community groups and the Cooma Car Club will have over 20 cars in the parade.
From the outset there will be great atmosphere and all-day entertainment from the highly talented buskers who have qualified for the grand final from numerous regional events.
All entertainment is free, and the overall day will centre around Centennial Park and include country markets, free workshops and family friendly activities. From there, music lovers can venture to view all the artists as they perform in different Sharp Street locations throughout the day.
