New Tourism Snowy Mountains Website

Tourism Snowy Mountains have announced the launch of its brand-new regional tourism website, snowymountains.com.au which will promote the region and offer detailed information for travellers to this iconic Australian destination.

The new website is a major milestone in the region’s tourism growth, providing a modern, user-friendly platform that showcases the Snowy Mountains’ diverse offerings, from snow sports and alpine adventures to world-class food, wine, and cultural experiences.

Designed to inspire and inform visitors, the site features engaging content, trip-planning tools, and highlights year-round attractions, reinforcing the region as a premier year-round destination.

Made possible with support from the Australian and NSW government’s Bushfire Local Economic Recovery (BLER) Fund, the new platform has a diverse range of information to attract visits to this iconic region.

Chair of Tourism Snowy Mountains, Rob Lloyd, acknowledges the Australian and NSW government’s vital contribution, stating:

“The funding provided through BLER has been instrumental in enhancing our digital presence. The new website is a key step in ensuring visitors can easily explore all the Snowy Mountains has to offer, helping to drive tourism and economic benefits for the region.”

Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories of Australia and Local Member for Eden Monaro, Kristy McBain said the new Snowy Mountains Tourism website will showcase all that our beautiful region has to offer.

“The Australian Government has worked with the NSW Government to back this important initiative to help bring new visitors, support jobs and boost the local economy.

“The Albanese Government is focused on helping the Snowy Mountains region not only recover but thrive.”

Minister for Regional NSW, Tara Moriarty, said the new Snowy Mountains’ tourism website is an important investment in the region’s future, helping to attract more visitors, support businesses and boost the local economy.

“Tourism is a major economic driver in the Snowy Mountains and the NSW Government is proud to support initiatives like this that help our regions to recover, grow and thrive.

“The Snowy Mountains is a year-round destination and the new website will help keep the region front of mind for visitors, make trip planning a breeze and support local businesses and jobs along the way.”

The website is part of the BLER-funded Tourism Snowy Mountains Bushfire Recovery Program that focuses on recovery from the 2019-20 bushfires, which impacted the local tourism industry and left lasting economic impacts.

These initiatives aim to restore the visitor economy and educate tourism operators on how to make the most of future opportunities.

BLER funding also supported the highly successful “It’s an Altitude Thing” marketing campaign, which recently earned high praise at the 2023 Mumbrella Tourism Awards for its stunning visuals and its role in attracting new visitors and strengthening the Snowy Mountains’ brand.

Additionally, Tourism Snowy Mountains used BLER funding to deliver an industry development program, helping local tourism operators enhance their products and grow their businesses.

The funding also contributed to the Tourism Snowy Mountains Event Marketing Fund, which supported both emerging and established events by providing financial assistance for marketing and promotion. This initiative helped increase event-based visitation, enrich the visitor experience, and position the Snowy Mountains as a leading tourism and events destination.

Tourism Snowy Mountains thanks the Australian and NSW governments for their commitment to regional recovery and resilience, ensuring the Snowy Mountains continues to thrive as a world-class tourism destination.
