Jindabyne Concert Born in the Snowys

Music lovers will descend on Jindabyne on Saturday for the inaugural Born in the Snowys concert being held at the Claypits.

The Lake Jindabyne foreshore will be the place to be this weekend starting with the Born in the Snowys concert from mid afternoon on Saturday, followed by Dragon Boating 2km races Saturday evening and races continuing all day Sunday with the Flowing Festival.

The Flowing Festival, held biannually will be the biggest yet with local artists kickstarting proceedings from 4.05pm Saturday.

Headline act is the very talented Montgomery Church who are hugely supported by  the Hip Replacements, 3 Below Zero, Jack Biilmann and Andrew Wortes.

There will also be local food from Jindabyne Emporium, Splitz Van, Peak Performance Café, Cool Catering, Thai ESaan, Wafflo, Coffee 2630 and Bush Pigs BBQ.

The Bush Pigs will also be running and a licensed area serving local Jindabyne Brewery beer and Shut the Gate wines, a fundraising event for their Jindabyne Rugby Club with all proceeds from the ‘Pig Pen’ going to their not for profit club.

At this year’s event, all profits from concert ticket sales will go to local not for profit group Alpine Uniting Church Jindabyne Op Shop.

Over 1000 guests are expected for the event from the local region, South Coast, regional NSW and Canberra.

The action gets hotter on Sunday with the 13th Lake Jindabyne Dragon Boat Challenge, market day and food stalls. Attracting dragon boat teams from regional community and corporate to sports teams from NSW, ACT and Victoria, teams paddle over a 200m sprint course on Lake Jindabyne from the Claypits.

And 10 minutes there after with the last bus departing SMGS AT 8.30pm for Cooma / Berridale.
