Are you a local business interested in working on, or contracting to, Snowy 2.0?
Come along to a series of supplier workshops being held this month in Tumbarumba, Tumut and Cooma which will give local businesses the tools to get involved in the project.
To date more than 100 Snowy Mountains businesses have been involved in Snowy 2.0 and there are many more business opportunities to come.
Future Generation, a joint venture appointed to build Snowy 2.0 for Snowy Hydro, is holding the workshops to provide local businesses with technical information about how to access Snowy 2.0 tender information and tips on how to ensure businesses are competitive.
To assist local suppliers take advantage of these business opportunities, Future Generation has appointed the Industry Capability Network (ICN), a business network to match suppliers with Snowy 2.0 sub-contracting packages.
Kieran Cusack, Snowy 2.0 Project Director, says Snowy 2.0 is an exciting project that will see significant opportunities for local businesses and service providers to support the delivery of Snowy 2.0.
“This includes construction activities for the project as well as operational requirements of the accommodation camps and site offices,” he said.
Future Generation and ICN are partnering to deliver the business workshops to explain how suppliers can register their businesses on the ICN Gateway and establish a profile that provides the best chance of winning contracts.
Antonio Betti, Future Generation Joint Venture Project Director, said the ICN Gateway was the main database and registration point for suppliers looking to engage with Future Generation and Snowy 2.0.
“The ICN Gateway will manage registrations on behalf of Future Generation and distribute Expressions of Interest and Scopes of Work as they are released throughout the project schedule,” he said.
Local businesses wishing to express interest in Snowy 2.0 can access supplier opportunities for free, however, they must be registered on the ICN Gateway at
www.gateway.icn.org.au to bid for work on the project.
There are three workshops in the Snowy Mountains region for local businesses to attend, with more planned for the coming months.
