Skiers and snowboarders at Perisher had an absolute blast today on what will most likely be the day of the season.

The Perisher froth level was at an all time high as snow was flying left right and centre across the resort.

With snow falling for most of today, so far this storm has delivered about 40cm. But wait there’s more. Blizzard conditions are sticking around with another 20cm predicted tonight and into Wednesday.  A Perisher spokesperson said “The winds remained moderate throughout the day today, with skiers and boarders finding deep, dry, powdery stashes galore. The conditions are UNREAL.”
Whether you were seeking face shots or bombing the freshly topped groomed runs, today was a day for the books.
Did we say that was all… No we didn’t with another front expected to arrive on Saturday delivering another 20cm plus and continuing into Sunday.

Looking ahead there is more snow the following week so August conditions will be “all time” best.

Here are a few humdinger images from Perisher today.

Deep light snow at Perisher today, August 7.
This shows how light and dry the snow was, some of the best in Australia for a long time.
A good indicator is when the Perisher Centre roof and ground start to meet.
A plume of dry powder in this skiers wake.
Ok some people are in for some work, but there are stairs under there somewhere.
More of this on the menu this week at Perisher.
