Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa’s inaugural Autumn Food & Wine Festival this coming weekend is set to establish itself as one of the signature events of the autumn calendar here in the Snowy Mountains. Join in the fun from Friday 23-Sunday 25.
Celebrating seasonal local produce on offer in the High Country region of New South Wales in one of the most beautiful settings, the inaugural weekend will be filled with a series of food masterclasses, culinary demonstrations, exclusive chef dinners, market stalls, as well as entertainment during the weekend accompanied by a refreshing beer or crisp glass of wine.
The Snowy Mountains is becoming well-known for rich, hearty ingredients such as beef, garlic, trout, truffles, apples and honey. Many of these ingredients will be incorporated over the weekend in the chef dinners and through market stall offerings.
Friday evening starts with a “Chefs of the Snowies Cocktail Evening” with a collection of local chefs, beverage suppliers and producers joining together for one evening to showcase the region’s finest produce. Plus entertainment by duo Montgomery Church. Each chef will produce a collection of canape style dishes for you to enjoy throughout the evening along with a selection of wines and beers to try.
Chefs include Lake Crackenback’s Jean-Michel Gerst, Crackenback Farm’s Jodie Evans, Wild Brumby’s Sebastian Druge and Jindabyne Brewing’s Freddie Cook. Their food will be matched with Kosciuszko Pale Ale, Shut the Gate wines, Courabyra Wines from Tumbarumba, On the Fly Mount Tumbarumba Vineyard Wines and Wild Brumby Distillery.
Saturday is Market Day and Masterclasses from 10am-5pm which will showcase many of the local operators of fine produce and products in the region. From honey, eggs, schnapps to chocolates, breads and vegetables. We are lucky in this region to have many new producers who have a passion for producing unique and sustainable produce in our seasonal climate.
